We decided to make a trip for just us and started looking for different destinations. We originally had our sights on the pacific - Australia or Hawaii. But with flight times and all, we decided on the Carribean. Just a short 3 hour flight from VA.

From there the travel destinations were daunting. Did we go all-inclusive or pick a hotel and take care of ourselves.

We decided on the all-inclusive and then needed to pick which one. We finally decided on the Royal Bahamian. Next came deciding the room type (level of service). The had a villa section on the resort away from the main section which we thought would be away from the main action and more secluded. The rooms also included 24 hour room service (very nice for late-night munchies) and Rolls Royce airport transfer.

I mainly went for the secluded area and room service not thinking the the airport transfer was that big of a deal. It ended up being awesome. All of the resorts and hotels use the same bus service for pick-up and drop off. You make alot of stops. The Rolls picks you up at the airport and it is direct trip to the hotel. The departure was the same.

The resort had 8 different restaurants (Italian, Japanese, Carribean, American, etc.). Plenty of choices and the food was very good.

We spent most of our time at the pools and swim-up bars. Our villa rooms even had smaller private pools and jacuzzis just outside.

We took advantage of the included SCUBA diving and even did a dive with a wild shark encounter. Very awesome and somewhat scary to say the least! We wanted to do a dolphin dive encounter, but those were all booked up...bummer!

If you are looking for one stop shopping (one phone call takes care of everything, to include airfare) then this is for you. We weren't looking to do any sight-seeing, just relaxation. We decided that this sounded perfect. We spent most of the day in our trunks (diving and swimming) followed by dinner in the evenings. It was very relaxing. We will definitely do this again in the future.

On to the pictures.......
