CURRENT NEWS! -- 11/14/05

Thanks to everyone who helped with Alex's popcorn sales or donated to his Cub Scout Pack. He made his goal and then some! They use the money to offset scouting events like the Raingutter Regatta, Pinewood Derby, etc. Speaking of which, they handed out the Pinewood Derby kits so we will be working on those for the next couple of months.

Alex received his first gradecard this year has done very well. He seems to be doing extremely well in all subjects.

Nate gets his tubes inserted in less than week (11/21/05). Hopefully this will make a big difference with his speech development.

Nate has finally seen an ENT (Ear Nose Throat) doctor and will be getting tubes. We still don't know if there is any permament damage, but there doctor said there is no reason to think there is.

Nate continues learn sign language and regular communicates with "Eat", "Ball", "Please", "Thank You", "All Done", "Drink", and "Bath". When he wants to eat, he will let you know now!

Alex really seems to be enjoying school and is learning a ton of new stuff. He really seems to think things through and then asks questions about whatever it is he has been pondering about.

Nate has started speech therapy and is picking up sign language like a champ. He seems to be really excited that he can communicate more effectively with us.

Alex has joined Cub Scouts and Matt will be an Assistant Den Leader for his Den. He is currently working on his Bobcat badge and then will start right into the Wolf Badge. The Pack pays for alot of the scouting items (pinewood derby, raingutter regatta, etc.) through fundraising. They sell popcorn and if you would like to buy some, just visit www.orderpopcorn.com and use Alex's code: TE9B7. A percentage of your purchase will go towards Pack 142s finances.

Alex wrote a short story for school, you can view it here.

Matt has started work on his Commercial Flight Instructor (CFI) rating and is about half-way through the syllabus.

We recently returned from a vacation in the Bahamas, much fun!

We have settled into the Virginian way of things, which mostly means we deal with high volumes of traffic every where we go.

Alex is enjoying his summer vacation, but Mom and Dad are ready for him to start second grade....in just under a month!

Nate is still not talking, but he communicates very well with his fingers. He points to his mouth when he is hungry. He also has mastered opening the fridge and making his mealtime selections.
